DineAByte (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the Satzpunkt mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we process when you use Satzpunkt, especially when you sign in with Apple or Google, host online rooms, or enable push notifications.
1. Who We Are

2. Data We Process
Depending on how you use Satzpunkt, we may process the following categories of data:
- Account and sign-in data: if you sign in with Apple or Google, our authentication system processes your email address, provider user ID, and basic profile information made available by the provider, such as your name.
- Profile data: your display name and optional Playtomic profile URL.
- Match, tournament, and room data: tournament and match state, room codes, participant display names, player names, scores, standings, and related content entered in the App.
- Guest room participation data: if you join an online room without creating an account, the display name you enter and your participation in that room are still processed on our servers.
- Device and notification data: an app-generated device identifier, your platform (iOS or Android), and an Expo push token if you enable push notifications.
- Local device data: Satzpunkt also stores app data locally on your device so parts of the App can work offline.
3. How We Use Data
We use this data to:
- authenticate users and manage accounts;
- host online tournaments and rooms, sync scores in real time, and save tournament history to your account;
- show your profile information inside the App;
- send push notifications related to room activity if you have granted notification permission; and
- protect the service against misuse and keep it functioning reliably.
4. Legal Bases Under GDPR
Where the GDPR applies, we process personal data on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) to provide sign-in, online rooms, score sync, saved tournaments, and profile features.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) where required, for example when you grant push-notification permission on your device.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) to secure, maintain, and improve the service.
5. Third Parties and Service Providers
Our main application backend and database are hosted on servers in Germany. We also rely on the following external services where needed:
- Apple and Google as identity providers when you choose social sign-in.
- Expo for over-the-air app updates and, if enabled, push notification delivery.
We do not use third-party advertising SDKs, and we do not sell personal data. Apple, Google, and Expo may process data under their own privacy terms when their services are used.
6. Data Retention
Data stored only on your device remains there until you delete it or uninstall the App. Server-side account, profile, tournament, room, and push-token data is retained for as long as needed to operate the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or respond to deletion requests.
7. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to certain processing. 8. Children’s Privacy
Satzpunkt is not specifically directed to children under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us without appropriate authorization, contact us and we will review the request.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
